  ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: Review proposed engineering test requirements and criteria for production. Perform analyses of test requirements and test criteria to determine optimum methods of implementation. Assess equipment requirements and materials to be utilized for production test for the various alternatives. Assess risks, costs, and schedule variables associated with the alternatives of the proposed testing at various assembly levels. Coordinate with manufacturing engineering on proposed manufacturing / production sequencing to determine overall best manufacturing configuration or build state to achieve desired product verification. With manufacturing and industrial engineering, develop estimates for test time, cycle time, equipment usage, and capacity. Jointly set test parameters and criteria with Design and Quality Engineering to provide best trade off for ensuring verification of product quality at the least impact to production cost and schedule. Define equipment requirement estimates for commercial off the shelf (COTS) or bench top type equipment. Provide end user interface and ergonomic requirements to engineering for Design Engineering provided automatic test equipment and software. Design/develop/ program various Manufacturing automated / semi-automated test equipments. Perform integration activities of SRU, SRA, and system testing into the production environment to ensure intent of tests and factory layout will not conflict. Develop, and document production acceptance, in process, and environmental stress screening test procedures. Prior to production release, perform first article proofing of the procedures with the required equipment and any necessary software. Coordinate with Design and Quality Engineering to resolve any problems prior to release. Refine test time, cycle time, and usage estimates to support final production staffing. Provide test process, test documentation, and trouble shooting techniques and training support of test personnel. Support production testing by providing liaison support between product test, manufacturing and design engineering for resolving technical problems encountered during test.

  EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 4 year technical degree plus 2 years experience related to production, test and evaluation, or test equipment development, (desirable 10 years experience production test, failure analysis, and test equipment selection and development). Thorough understanding of engineering documents (assembly drawings, schematics, and specifications), ability to read and interpret manufacturer's operator manuals for test equipment, ability to read and interpret component requirements from manufacturer's data books. Requires excellent written and verbal skills. Ability to use PC and standard Microsoft Office applications in the preparation of reports, documents, and charts. CAD and test equipment programming skills highly desirable. Ability to obtain security clearance. US Citizenship required.
